Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book?

Please contact the office on 01686 412113 to make a booking or click contact us. The office is open 10am- 3pm, Monday- Friday. Prior booking is essential as we are unable to cater for people turning up on the day.

How do I check availability?

Our range is available to the public seven days a week. It may though be closed occasionally for events such as rallies and corporate days.

Who can shoot?

People who hold a valid Firearms Certificate may shoot with us. Other people without a licence may use our rifles under the estate rifle exemption provided they are not prohibited under section 21 of the Firearms Act.

What to bring?

The weather can be highly variable. We advise you check the forecast before leaving home and come prepared for spending time outdoors and dress in suitable outdoor (hiking type) clothing and sturdy footwear.

If lunch is not included in your package you will need to bring you own to eat at the range. There is nowhere in the vicinity to buy lunch during the day. Hot drinks are provided.

Range Facilities

We have a Shackleton hut that provides shelter with tea and coffee making facilities and toilet. The main shooting range has covered firing points which allows you to shoot from 50 to 900 metres. To shoot further than 900m does require being outdoors and may involve some walking in rough and hilly terrain.

Is there anything else to do in the area?

Mid-Wales is a haven for outdoor activity. You can go hiking on one of the many spectacular trails e.g. Sarn Sabrina, Wye Valley, Severn Way, Glyndwr's Way, Kerry Ridgeway. Cader Idris, Snowdonia National Park and the Brecon Beacons are in easy driving distance. Also available in the vicinity is mountain biking, cycling, golf, off road motorcycling or rallying, horse riding, and clay pigeon shooting.

For those who want a more relaxing break, the Llandrindod Wells Metropole Hotel has a day spa open to non-guests with a variety of treatment packages. In addition there's shopping in Aberystwyth or Shrewsbury, great sightseeing, watching the red kites or enjoyment of fine dining.

Beaches are just 40 minute’s drive away and there's plenty for children to see and do in the area.
